About the Item

This pair of large antique exotic bird or pheasant sculptures were done by artist G. Vivaldi of Italy in approximately 1920 in a Victorian style. The sculptures are composed of silver plate over copper and depict a pair of detailed walking pheasants with articulated wings and glass eyes. The sculptures are composed of several pieces of very ornately cast and plated panels giving the sculptures a significant degree of depth, and the articulated wings provide a range of display variations. The cock bird is clearly signed "G.Vivaldi" and "Made in Italy" on underside at the base of the tail. The hen bird is unsigned, and approximately one inch smaller in size. Please note these are two very substantial sculptures measuring well over two feet in length.
