About the Item
A large and magnificent vintage Italian Renaissance lidded Capodimonte style porcelain serving vessel (makes for a wonderful soup tureen or visually striking table centerpiece).
The exceptionally executed scalloped shaped handled covered dish serveware features elaborate relief decoration of cherub figures and sheep pictured in wheat fields and grape vines, fiolated accents, having a cover with handle over footed deep dish basin flanked by a pair of mythical ram horn satyr mask open handles. Marks/signed IYR to the verso, likely the artisans initials, and the number 73.

Exquisitely hand-crafted in Sweden in the early 20th century, the dished and molded palatial rectangular shaped tray features exceptionally executed period Art Nouveau hand-painted polychrome decoration, adorned with neoclassical motif of florals, foliage, acanthus leaves, and urn with flowers.
Signed, marked Rorstrand with three crowns to verso, dated 1913, and lower right impressed HD Rorstrand CO 1/2.
