XXI Century Large Italian Solid 800 silver Entree dish Queen Ann Style

About the Item

Large solid silver Queen Anne style vegetable dish. The oblong shape is hand-shaped with embossed ribs that make it very bright and solid. A cord border has been welded on the outer edges, making it a typical style of the period, between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th century. The lid also has a Queen Anne border, embellished with 4 acanthus leaves made with the casting technique. The oval knob is cast and can be removed from the lid, allowing the entire object to be divided and become two serving plates. In modern times, given the versatility of the object, the vegetable dish has undergone transformations in use; nowadays in homes it is used mainly as a holder for chocolates, sweets and small pastries to offer guests. Made in Padua - Italy in the workshops of the Bellotto silversmith at the beginning of the 21st century for ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA
