About the Item

Vintage set of 4 cups, 4 saucers, and 4 bread or dessert plates is decorated with the Leighton pattern in Cobalt colorway. The footed cups have gold band decor on the outside of the cup and on the handles, and elaborate cobalt blue and gold band with abstract brown print on the inside. The combination of cobalt blue, mocha brown, and gold looks classic and elegant on semi-translucent English bone china that Aynsley is famous for. Leighton pattern was in use from 1985 to either 1995 or 2002. The pieces are marked with the green manufacturer's stamps that were in use until 2000, dating the set to 1985-2000, and pattern name in brown.
