"Family" Jugs Medium, Brushed Porcelain and Glazed Interior
About the Item
The "Family" Jugs, is a porcelain crafted set of three jugs resembling a family of three: mum, dad and kid. Their subtle curved shapes display different personalities.
The medium one is the clumsy dad, with a round shape and a less elegant position. The porcelain finishing on the outside is brushed and sanded to a matte texture. The inside of the jugs is glazed with glossy glass layer. The ensamble is fired at 1400 celsius degrees three times. The process of slip-casting, drying, sharpening the edges, polishing the surfaces, firing, sanding and brushing, and then the consequent glazing firing are done with extreme care, by hand in local workshops in Spain.

Jorge Suárez-Kilzi is an architect with a wide international experience in Switzerland, Spain, Korea, Sweden and Japan. Worked for Architectes Kazuyo Sejima, Ryue Nishizawa and Junya Ishigami at their Tokyo offices. After several years of freelancing as a creative support to other architecture offices, has launched this solo project centred in creating playful and timeless designs that breath elegance and sobriety. Our first produced items were three porcelain jugs and two fibreglass and steel lamps. We expect the family to grow extensively and are open to any requests and preorders on our ongoing designs.
These jugs are presented as a simple minimal piece. However in order to fit the customer's style we can discuss over specific glazings with various textures and colours. These variations will take longer since they are bespoke items.
