Fine Pair of Kangxi Blue & White Chargers, China c. 1700
About the Item
Each plate features an intricate border with floral sprays in an open field. The central vignette, reserved by a thick silver-form border, features a "Chinoiserie" scene.
These stylized images of court-life show noble Chinese ladies & gentlemen -not as they actually lived- but as their European clients imagine them to live.
Kangxi period porcelain. Jingdezhen (Canton), China, c. 1700.
