About the Item
The formed handles are particularly unique, with a 'flamiform' finial atop the cover, and two side handles designed as eagles' heads holding rings, all gilt with little wear.
Marked on base and on underside of lid with an impressed "FBB" under a crown.
The Flight, Barr, & Barr partnership ran the Worcester factory from 1815-1840, manufacturing several services for the Royal Family (The Order of the Garter service is on display at Buckingham Palace, and used once a year, even today!) and with other orders from Sultans, Nabobs, and Princely families of England and Europe, many of which are shown in Sandon's 'Flight & Barr Worcester Porcelain'
