Marianne Westman (1928-2017) for Rörstrand. Large "Mon Amie" breakfast cup and saucer. Rare. 1970s. In excellent condition. Marked. Cup: Diameter 12.3 cm (without handle) x Height 7.8 cm. Plate/saucer: Diameter 17.1 cm. Marianne Westman hailed from the central Swedish town of Falun. Her journey as an artist began at the renowned University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, where she pursued studies in ceramics from 1946. Upon completing her degree in 1950, Marianne's exceptional talent caught the attention of the renowned Rorstrand ceramic factory in Lidköping, who selected her for their team.
