Meissen most lovely figurine group: The Approach (=loving couple with scout and pigeons) Measures / dimensions: height 12.79 inches / 32.5 cm width 9.44 inches / 24.0 cm depth 5.70 inches / 14.5 cm Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (glazed bottom) First quality Dating: 19th century / made circa 1860-1870 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Modelled by: Johann Carl Schoenheit (1730-1805) Model I 60 was created circa 1787 Schoenheit started his career at Meissen Manufactory when he was eleven years old: He received first education as modeller's apprentice in year 1741 / finally, Schoenheit got leading position at the latest in year 1768 when documents called him 'a leading member of the so-said White Corps'. The designer and modeller had worked together with Kaendler for more than 20 years as well as collaborated with Acier when the latter had entered Meissen manufactory in year 1762 / Schoenheit became first modeller of Meissen manufactory after Kaendler's death in year 1775. Schoenheit retired in year 1794. Detailed description: Loving couple with scout. A gesturing boyish man embraces his female companion who his turning her back towards him / the young lady supports herself on a column. There is a further man - a scout - visible behind the column: He holds a hat on which a Billing pair of pigeons (=symbol of love !) has taken place. - Excellently modelled garments of Rococo style existing (please look for example at the woman's feathered hat or at the various patterns at couple's as well as scout's dress). Oval base with golden painted frieze decoration visible. Condition: Excellent (there aren't any damages existing).
