Meissen Boy & Girl Porcelain Figures with Flowers
About the Item
A fine matched pair vintage German porcelain figures holding flowers made by world renowned makers Meissen and believed to date from the early 20th century. This finely made pair of figures are of typical Meissen style portraying a young girl both standing raised on scroll work bases applied with small flower heads. Both are in traditional dress with the girl wearing an apron which she holds outstretched in front of her to carry flowers. A vase containing flowers stands alongside her. The boy wears a jacket and knee length trousers and holds a floral wreath in front of him. Both are finely painted with gilded high lights and both have underglaze blue crossed sword marks to the base along with impressed and painter number marks.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK art market.
In good condition with the girl figure having some minor professional restoration.
