Meissen most lovely figurine group: Children with monkey and goat Measures / Dimensions: height 6.49 inches / 16.5 cm width 4.92 inches / 12.5 cm depth 3.62 inches / 9.2 cm Manufactory: Meissen Hallmarked: Blue Meissen Sword Mark (glazed bottom) model number H 89 First quality Dating: mid-19th century / made circa 1870 Material: porcelain, glossy finish, multicolored painted Technique: handmade porcelain Style: Rococo Designed by: Johann Carl Schoenheit (1730 - 1805) Schoenheit started his career at Meissen Manufactory when he was eleven years old: He received first education as modeller's apprentice in year 1741 / finally, Schoenheit got leading position at the latest in year 1768 when documents called him 'a leading member of the so-said White Corps'. - The designer and modeller had worked together with Kaendler for more than 20 years as well as collaborated with Acier when the latter had entered Meissen manufactory in year 1762 / Schoenheit became first modeller of Meissen manufactory after Kaendler's death in year 1775. Schoenheit retired in year 1794. - THIS MODEL (H 89) WAS CREATED 1785. Detailed Description: Children With Monkey And Cradle (Deriving From A Series Of Four Children's Groups) Two Nearly Undressed Children - A Girl And A Boy - (wearing only a loin cloth), gather around a cradle in which a goat is sleeping / additionally, there is a monkey visible next to girl - the animal figurine is looking through a magnifying glass / a childrens' toys - a small drum - lies on ground, beneath the cradle ... The figurines are based on oval rocky base decorated with golden painted border.
