We kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Very elegant and iconic vase made of white French porcelain; the exceptional decoration that fills the entire central part of the vase is entirely hand-painted, and the artist has executed the depiction with meticulousness and skill, taking care of the entire work even down to the smallest details; the painting makes us enjoy a bucolic rural landscape with trees and farmhouses on the shores of a tranquil mountain lake; the base, neck, and handles of the vase are finished with the application of pure gold; the narrow scroll-shaped handles end in lion heads; a rich and refined ensemble, a true work of art. The vase was made between 1870 and 1873 in artisan workshops in the vicinity of Paris by master craftsmen with respect for ancient traditions and the raw material (kaolin). Old Porcelain Paris or Vieux Paris is the term given to the elaborate hard-paste porcelain products created in Paris from the mid-1700s to the late 1800s. Vieux Paris is a generic term because there were more than 30 factories producing porcelain during this period. Sometimes these factories sold "blank," unpainted pieces to outside artisans, so it is possible to see identically shaped pieces with different painting styles. For this reason, most Vieux Paris pieces are unattributed, which means that there are generally no maker's marks. From the discovery of kaolin, a material needed for the manufacture of porcelain, porcelain factories, also called manufactories, multiplied throughout France and of course in Paris. Most of these manufactories worked in the 18th century under the protection of a member of the royal family, such as the Count of Provence, future Louis XVIII, who protected the Clignancourt Manufactory. However, during the 19th century, numerous pieces bore no hallmark. It was therefore almost impossible to attribute them to particular Parisian manufacture, hence the expression "Porcelain de Paris" or "Vieux Paris," which encompasses all these different productions. The absence of the mark would indicate an inferior product, but in fact, Paris porcelain is usually of superb quality. On par with more emblazoned productions such as Sevres & Meissen! The vase is in good condition; the painting is perfect; on the base, in the part immediately below the painting, there is a small piece of porcelain missing (see photo), which aesthetically is very little visible; below the base, there are rust drippings due to oxidation of the metal framework that holds the parts of the vase together, which being below the base is irrelevant to the aesthetic purpose; in some parts, the pure gold appears worn, but this makes the object much more fascinating and historically interesting. Measures width cm.14, depth cm.14, height cm.32, base cm. 11 x 11. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
