Octagonal Chinese Porcelain Serving Dish

About the Item

Porcelain dish from China for export. Decorated in blue and white, with a river landscape, plant motifs and flowers, in the center there is a pagoda and two figures crossing a bridge, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period (1736-1795). The central motif depicts a bucolic Chinese landscape, featuring pagodas, leafy trees, including willows, and an arched bridge crossing a river. The composition creates a serene and harmonious visual narrative, evoking the Chinese ideal of integration between man and nature. The rim of the platter features floral, vegetal and geometric patterns, creating a detailed frame that contrasts elegantly with the central scene. This piece is a remarkable example of the skill of Chinese artisans in creating export porcelain, combining traditional techniques with a design that appealed to the European market. Defects.
