Pair of German Porcelain Pastille Incense Burners by KPM Berlin, 1820

About the Item

An exquisite pair of early 19th century Berlin KPM porcelain pastille, incense burners, two antique oval perfume containers with pierced lids, pine cone finials above oval burner. Painted with naturalistic flowers. Blue sceptre mark, impressed number 5 and 6 dating back to 1820-30. Richly decorated in gilt with hand painted panels to the front and rear of Watteau romantic style courting couples in rural scenes. Hand painted floral decoration to the sides. The covers show a lovely gilt decoration with polychrome flowers and ladybugs. Very rare European artworks for collectors. In used good condition no chips or dents, minor gilding wear and an old restoration near a handle, see picture detail. Berlin, circa 1820-30. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago requires a governative license for export called Belle Arti.
