About the Item

A large platter, bearing commemorative portraits of Naser al din Shah Qajar, painted in cobalt and parcel gilt. This beautiful portrait platter was purchased as a wedding gift at the Grand Bazaar, Isfahan, in the 1950s. Japanese porcelain, probably painted in China, for the Persian Market. This comes from a full, 72 piece service, largely unused and in very good to excellent condition.     Wear consistent with age and use. In really excellent condition. The platter appears unused. If there is any wear it is due to the long period of storage and several moves made while boxed. Some fade to gilding but very minor. Note: images show original production faults. No damage.
