About the Item
Porcelain plate from China for export. Blue and white decoration with floral motifs. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period (1736-1795).
In the center, a delicately designed vase, from which flowers and branches sprout, surrounded by a delicate composition of flowers and leaves. The bar between the bottom and the edge of the plate is decorated with continuous floral motifs and symmetrical details, creating visual harmony.
On the edge, sets of different flowers are represented, distributed harmoniously all around, ending with a golden frieze.
Blue on white enamel offers an elegant and timeless contrast. This type of porcelain was widely exported by the East India Company and was highly appreciated by the European aristocracy.
The edge of the reverse is decorated with arabesques in blue.
