Porcelain plate from China, for export. Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng Reign (1722-1735). Polychrome decoration with flowers.
The center of the plate features a delicate floral composition with peonies and other flowers in shades of pink, orange and purple, as well as green foliage, symbolizing prosperity and beauty in Chinese tradition.
The edge of the plate is richly ornamented with a geometric background pattern in rust and gold tones, interspersed with reserves decorated with flowers and decorative elements inspired by oriental art. Fine details and vibrant colors suggest the influence of porcelain made for export during the 18th century.
