English, late 19th century Dimensions: Height 2cm, diameter 22cm This charming set of nine dinner plates are of circular form, each decorated with a painted blue and gilt border and depicting a different common English fish in the centre. The fish are painted nauralistically underwater, swimming amongst various river weeds and plants.
