English Majolica George Jones Nut Dish with Bird
About the Item
This is the Bird Nut Dish by George Jones. He was one of the finest English majolica makers. He worked for the Minton Company before starting his own. His company was small, therefore, he did not produce as many pieces. George Jones was known for his whimsical pieces and extraordinary detail. The bird nut dish was used to serve nuts. The beak has been professionally restored. This piece is signed and dates 1861-73.
