Lucie Rie and Hans Coper Studio Pottery Black Glazed Bowl

$15,322.88Asking Price

About

A stunning vintage British Studio Pottery bowl by Lucie Rie and Hans Coper, thinly thrown and decorated in black glaze with a white glazed rim. The bowl is slightly 'squeezed' in shape and stands on a narrow rounded unglazed foot rim with impressed seal marks for Lucie Rie and Hans Coper the base. With an old black pen mark apparently applied by her husband but which could easily be removed. Provenance: The Ann Horlock Stringer Collection. Ann was married to Harry Horlock-Stringer (1927-2014), a potter, and both were passionate about Studio Pottery. Much of their collection was purchased from friends and also from the Craftsman Potters' Association ship, exhibitions and galleries.
