About the Item

Staffordshire pottery seated cat, c. 1850. This finely potted cat, modelled in the round, and having a seperate front leg. He knows that he is a particularly good example, as he has an aloof expression on his face. Decorated in underglaze yellow and black spotting, and wearing a gilt collar and locket. Height – 14.5 cm, 5 3/5”. Width – 9 cm, 3 1/2”. Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
