Vietnamese Antique Bowl 16th Century / "Annan-chawan" / Southeast Asian Pottery

About the Item

A bowl made around the 16th century in Vietnam. In Japan, trade with Vietnam has been active since the Muromachi period (around the 16th century). Many Vietnamese bowls have also been imported into Japan. Vietnamese bowls are greatly influenced by Chinese bowls, and there are many items with similar designs to China. It is strongly influenced by China, and the design incorporates things from China's Yuan period. A distinctive feature of Vietnamese pottery from this period is that the bottom of the vessel is coated with iron glaze and painted black. Regarding the condition, There is a very small chip in the area circled in red. Also, the areas circled in blue are dents made before firing. Although it is an excavated item, it has very few scratches and is in very good condition. This bowl is neither too large nor too small, so you can use it everyday to store soup or rice. *It cannot be used in microwave ovens or dishwashers. The same thing was published in an art book on Vietnamese pottery, so I will post a photo of it. It was difficult to find items in good condition, but I was finally able to get them this time. This is a recommended item.
