About the Item
This exclusive cutlery collection, “Appetize”, was designed by award-winning designer Nedda El-Asmar for the renowned Swedish brand Gense. The set includes 96 pieces and is intended for lunch service for twelve people. All pieces are in unused condition.
Nedda El-Asmar, a specialist in cutlery design, describes designing flatware as a true challenge – "It must feel right in the hand and in the mouth. Ergonomics and practicality are just as important as aesthetics," she explains. When traveling abroad, she always visits local restaurants to observe eating habits and better understand different cultural dining practices.
The shape of the cutlery is inspired by the leaves of the Japanese tea plant, giving the set a refined and organic elegance.

About the Designer:
Nedda El-Asmar (b. 1968) is a Belgian designer. She studied jewellery design and silversmithing in Antwerp, Belgium, and completed her studies at the Royal College of Art in London. El-Asmar has worked for several companies, including Hermès, Puiforcat, Royal Boch, Eternum, Gense, and Villeroy & Boch. Her work blends craftsmanship with modern design and functional beauty.
