Antique Naples Porcelain 215 Piece Dinner & Tea Service Napoleon Au Roi de Rome

About the Item

An incredible antique 19th century Naples porcelain/Capodimonte 215 piece dinner & tea/coffee service, "Au Roi de Rome" (King of Rome). Made to celebrate the birth of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte's son in 1811, Napoleon-François-Charles-Joseph Bonaparte. The service is of monumental scale each piece is decorated in relief with Bacchic scenes of garlanded figures in various landscapes. All of the plates, saucers and serving pieces having the Imperial Coat of Arms of the French First Empire (1804-1815), under Napoleon Bonaparte. All 215 pieces are marked to the base with the Naples Porcelain blue crown over a blue "N" stamp and written in gilt "Au Roi de Rome Naples 1811". The tureens and lidded soup bowls are also decorated to the interior with floral sprigs & the Imperial coat of arms. Each tazza/stand are raised on bacchantes figures, the set is in remarkable condition. The set comprises; 1 x large round lidded tureen with putto & finial & handled stand 11' tall x 11' wide, stand 13.25 diameter 1 x large oval lidded tureen with putto finial & handled stand 12" diameter x 11.5" tall, stand 14.5" dimater 1 x tazza 12" diameter x 6.5" tall 1 x tazza 10" diameter x 5.5" tall 2 x tazzas 9" diameter x 5" tall 2 x large oval serving platters 16.75" wide x 13" 2 x large oval serving platters 15" wide x 12" 1 x large round serving plate 12" diameter 4 x square serving dishes 8" x 8" 35 x 10" dining plates 23 x 9" plates 11 x 8" plates 10 x 7" plates 23 x plates 6" diameter 12 x teacups 3" tall x 3" diameter 12 x saucers 6" 12 x demitasse cups 3.5" diameter x 2.25" tall 12 x saucers 5" 12 x coffee cups 4": diameter x 2.5" tall 12 x 6" saucers 12 x lidded soup bowls 6" diameter x 4.5" tall Remarkably this service is in excellent condition, after thorough examination of each individual piece there are no cracks, chips or restoration, all 215 pieces are in good state.
