About the Item

A 20th Century pair of novelty cast solid silver salts. Realistically modelled as a lighthouse, the top can be removed to fill up the inside with contents. Hallmarked Sterling silver (925 standard), Made in America, Marked underneath "WIK". Made by Gorham Silver Ltd. Gorham Silver, founded in 1831 in Providence, Rhode Island, became one of America's leading silver manufacturers. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship, they produced a wide range of silver items, from flatware to ornate decorative pieces. The company gained international recognition, including commissions for the White House and major exhibitions. Its designs often incorporated elements of Victorian, Art Nouveau, and later Art Deco styles, making Gorham Silver highly collectible today. CONDITION In Great Condition - Wear expected with age.
