A magnificent, fine and impressive, large antique George V English sterling silver presentation cup with cover made by goldsmiths and silversmiths Co Ltd; an addition to our presentation silverware collection. This exceptional antique sterling silver presentation cup and cover has a plain bell shaped form onto a circular spreading foot. The lower portion of the body is encircled with exceptional cast and applied alternating strapwork style ornamentation. The upper rim of this antique silver trophy cup is embellished with a plain applied moulded border. This exceptional example of antique silverware retains the original hallmarked domed push fit cover ornamented with further cast and applied strapwork designs, surmounted with the original and impressive, hallmarked cast finial. This large silver presentation cup is fitted with two impressive cast and applied opposing scroll handles accented with scrolling leaf decorated thumbpieces, in addition to large leaf designs emanating down to the handpieces. This exceptional cup and cover was crafted by the renowned London silversmiths goldsmiths & silversmiths Co Ltd. If required, this antique cup could be supplied with a bespoke ebonized black plinth with sterling silver plaque or band, suitable for a personal engraved inscription. This service would take approximately 6 weeks, whereas the cup can be dispatched separately prior to completion. Condition: This large silver presentation cup is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. This antique silver cup has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The cast and applied decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the cup and rim of the cover, in addition to part hallmarks to the finial are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
