An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George IV English cast sterling silver vinaigrette; an addition to our diverse collectable silverware collection.
This exceptional antique George IV cast sterling silver vinaigrette is realistically modelled in the form of a cornucopia.
The cast silver horn-shaped cornucopia container is encompassed with bands of ribbed decoration, accented with a spiralling terminal.
The rim of the horn is further embellished with a cast leaf decorated border.
The upper portion of the horn is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover embellished with an embossed and chased floral bouquet design.
The cover opens to reveal the original hinged grille and gilt interior.
The gilded grille is ornamented with a bright cut engraved and pierced decorated scrolling leaf design.
