A George III sterling silver gilt Vinaigrette by the silversmith Wardell & Kempson, Birmingham, 1814. The Vinaigrette is of watch case form, engraved foliate decoration, the interior with a hinged, pierced, and engraved foliate scroll grille. The Vinaigrette is hallmarked with the markers mark 'W&K' for Wardell & Kempson, George III duty mark, date letter 'q' for 1814, and lion passant to denote sterling silver. Date: 1814. Period: 19th century. Engraving: N/A. Maker: Wardell & Kempson. Measurement: The Vinaigrette measures 3.6cm (height) x 2.8cm (length) x 1.2cm (depth). Weight: 16.1 grams / 0.51 troy ounces. Condition: The Vinaigrette is in good condition with light surface scratches, tarnishing, and marks commensurate with age. The cover hinge, and grill hinge both close tightly.
