Antique Imperial Russian Silver Gold Cloisonne Enamel Napkin Ring Moscow 1896

About the Item

Antique Russian Imperial silver gilt cloisonne enamel napkin ring holder, silversmith; M.F. Sokolov, Moscow, 1896. A very elegant Russian napkin holder, the top and base having a band of circular white enamel decoration, the body of the ring having a blue enamel ground with silver scroll decoration. To the center of the napkin ring is a circular cartouche that is free from an engraved monogram, the rest of the round is punctuated with small red and white enameled flowers. The napkin ring stamped with M.F. Sokolov's makers mark. Condition is very good indeed, no damage or restoration noted, silver weight is 53 grams. Provenance; Part of a large collection of fine Russian silver, passed through the same family of Russian descent since the early 1900's.
