Antique Scottish Sterling Silver Glass Hors D'oeuvre Dish Set

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V Scottish sterling silver and glass hors d'oeuvre set; an addition to our silver cruet and condiments collection These exceptional antique George V Scottish sterling silver hors d'oeuvre dishes have an circular form. The subtly faceted glass body of each dish features a plain elevated handpiece to either side. Each antique dish is fitted with an impressive hallmarked sterling silver cover, surmounted with a plain rounded handle to the centre. These exceptional antique dishes sit to the original sterling silver plates/trays. Each plate is plain and unembellished, with a plain raised rounded border. Each dish retains the Hamilton & Inches London sterling silver hors d'oeurve fork, each with an incurved heel below the two curvilinear tines. These impressive dishes are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box, with a satin and velvet lined interior and securing with a push fit catch. The interior of the cover bears the retailer's mark 'By Appointment, Hamilton & Inches, 88 Princes Street, Edinburgh'. Condition These antique sterling silver and glass hors d'oeuvre dishes are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The original glass vessels are in perfect condition. The original box is also in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each cover and plate, in addition to the reverse of each fork are all very clear.     A fine antique Victorian English sterling silver bon bon dish, an addition to our silver dining collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver bon bon dish has an oval shaped form onto a pedestal and oval spreading foot. The body of the dish is embellished with embossed fluted ornamentation accented with a central scroll and leaf decorated motif to the centre of the well. The undulating rim of the dish is encompassed with embossed decoration in addition to pierced simplified foliate designs. The pedestal is embellished with further embossed alternating fluted decoration with a plain rim. The underside of the dish bears the registration number 'Rd 163770.' Condition This antique dish is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. There are some fire marks to the well of the dish, in keeping with age. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rim are all very clear; the second portion of the maker's mark has wear but remains legible. Dimensions Length 16.1 cm/6.3". Width 11.6 cm/4.6". This exceptional antique George V twelve piece silver condiment set consists of three salts, three pepper pots, two mustard pots, two sauce ladles and two sauce pales. The impressive Art Deco salts, mustard pots and sauce pales have circular rounded forms and the accompanying pepper pots each have a plain baluster form. The surface of each piece is plain and unembellished. The antique silver salts have gilded interiors.
