Edwardian Sterling Silver Vase, Elkington & Co, London, 1909

About the Item

An Edwardian sterling silver vase by Elkington & Co. Ltd, London, 1909. The bulbous body is raised on a pedestal base that leads to a flared neck. The vase is decorated with vacant cartouches, musical instruments and scrolls, and is completed with a pair of 'handles' depicting male and female figures in a scrolling classical style. Assay: .925 (Sterling silver). Date: 1909. Period: Early 20th century. Engraving: The vase is unengraved. Measurement: The vase measures approximately 21.3 cm (height) x 11.6 cm (diameter). Weight: The vase weighs 463.2 grams / 14.89 troy ounces. Condition: The vase is in good antique condition. Light surface scratches and marks commensurate with age. There are no splits, or repairs, or dents. The vase displays traces of a parcel-gilt finish that has been mostly removed. Please see photos for confirmation of condition. Item no: 1653/01_sa1.
