French Art Deco Sterling Silver, Enamel Glass-Mounted Burled Walnut Table Box
About the Item
Fabulous, rare, Art Deco, sterling silver, rust colored enamel and beveled glass-mounted burled walnut table box with hinged lid, Paris, circa 1910, Alphonse DeBain (who worked from 1883-1911; his shop was located at 79 Rue du Temple in Paris) - maker. Inside bottom of box and underside are covered in dark brown leather. Has a removable wood slat that can be moved to change size of compartments in box. Measures 7 inches wide x 5 inches deep x 2 1/2 inches high. Beveled glass is clear. One small piece of wood on one edge inside of the box is worn down (commensurate with age and use). Otherwise in excellent condition.
