Silver vessel as a breakthrough work on feet, standing on an oval ground plan, richly decorated with wreaths of flowers, monogrammed heart-shaped cartouches, festons and pilasters, openworked raised handles with acanthus decoration, oval lid with circumferential cruciate ligament, central oval vault with hump decoration and circumferential cord, ring-shaped handle with bow. Removable silver insert bowl with full gold plating inside and out. Dimensions: height: 14.0 cm / 5.51 in width: 21.0 cm / 8.26 in depth: 11.0 cm / 4.33 in Hallmarks: Minerva Head - 'Minerve casquée, French official hallmark for 950 Silver, 1838-1973 'BOULENGER' + crescent in diamond - for Adolphe BOULENGER & Cie Paris 1864-1898, 1810 Foundation of the company 'Hautin' by goldsmith M. Boulenger-Hautin, in 1864 takeover by nephew Adolphe Boulenger and renaming to 'Adolphe Boulenger & Cie'. After Adolphes death in 1898, the company was taken over by his son and renamed 'Charles Boulenger & Cie' Made around 1890 Condition: excellent state of preservation, cleaned and polished.
