Pair of 3-Light Silver Candelabra Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy Prague, 1863

About the Item

Pair of three-flame silver candelabra on a hexagonal, cambered, unfilled base. Shank with hexagonal cross-section, smooth surface with gouilloché leaf decoration. On the top piece there are three volute-shaped curved arms that widen upwards and open into slightly flared vase-shaped spouts. Can be used as a single candle holder when the three-armed attachment is removed. Finest work of simple elegance by a Prague silversmith master who was also purveyor to the court of the Austro-Hungarian imperial family. Branded by the Wheel mark, Austrian official hallmark: 13 Lot silver, dating 1863, letter 'B' for Prague Master's mark: 'HG' Imperial double eagle: sign as a purveyor to the imperial court Size: Height 36.5 cm / 14.37 in Diameter 25.0 cm / 9.84 in Total weight: 1.190 Grams / 41.88 oz / 38.26 troy oz Very well maintained condition.
