Pair Of High 7-Flame Silver Candelabras, by J.C. Klinkosch Vienna, ca 1925

About the Item

Two elegant seven-light candelabras on a round, trumpet-shaped raised foot with a palmette band on the foot and a stylized flower and acanthus frieze under the disc-shaped protruding bead ring, above it another frieze with stylized flowers and raised, plastic acanthus leaves, the shaft raised in the middle with six, volute arms widening outwards with constrictions and attached, flat eaves bowls and vase-shaped spouts with palmette borders, another spout with eaves bowl on the raised center part. Hallmarks: Toucan head - Austrian official hallmark 1922-1939, & from 1946 800 - silver fineness J.C.KLINKOSCH - Manufactory sign of Josef Carl KLINKOSCH Dimensions: hight: 52.0 cm / 20.47 in diameter: 27.0 cm / 10.63 in Silver weight: 3240 Grams / 104.18 troy OZ Very well-maintained condition, cleaned and polished Founded in 1830 by Stephan Mayerhofer and Carl Klinkosch: 'K. k. Court and state priv. Gold, silver u. Plating manufacturers'. The Mayerhofer & Klinkosch silver workshop had developed into one of the most successful companies in the industry by 1850. In 1869 Josef Carl Klinkosch became the sole owner and the successor company 'Gold-, Silber- und Metallwaren-Fabrik J. C. Klinkosch' was established. The company's success remained the same: Like his father, Josef Carl Klinkosch also received numerous commissions from the imperial court in Vienna.
