About the Item

A pair of George V Arts and Crafts style sterling silver ewers. The small ewers are of planished circular form, having hinged covers with disc finial and scroll thumb-piece. The body of the jugs have a central girdle and card-cut decoration in relief, with scroll handle, and are raised on a circular foot. The ewers are hallmarked London, 1935 (Jubilee mark), and with the makers mark of Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst. Assay: .925 (Sterling Silver). Date: 1935. Period: Mid-20th century. Engraving: Unengraved. Measurement: Ewer 1 - 11.3 cm (height) x 9.2 cm (length between handle and spout) x 6.8 cm (body width), Ewer 2 - 11.3cm (height) x 9.0 cm (length between handle and spout) x 6.8 cm (body width). Weight: Their combined weight is 551.9 grams. Condition: The pair are in good vintage condition. Light surface scratches, marks, and a couple of minor bruises commensurate with age.
