About the Item

Austrian excellent Biedermeier silver pair of candlesticks, made 1855. Very interesting Viennese silver pair of candlesticks of excellent manufacturing quality as well as of elegant appearance. These candlesticks were made during Viennese late Biedermeier period. Each of them is based on round foot with scalloped edge (the base is hollow at reverse side, not filled!). All parts of candlesticks' surface are ornamented with lines bulging the surface in decorative manner. Finally, the tapering stalk having two areas bulging out is topped by most elegant grommet. ____________________________________________________________ Made 1855 (Viennese Biedermeier period). Hallmarked SILVER 812.5 (SILVER 13 LOT): Branded by so-said Viennese Radl Punze 1855 (well visible). Master's characters existing (JW) / enclosed by very special shield mark: These are initials for Viennese master Josef Wiederspoeck (written as Wiederspeck, too), having been inscribed in list of Viennese silversmith's guild during period 1837-1856, after having received authorization of professionalism in year 1822. Diameter: 14.0 cm 5.31 inches (measured at base). Total weight: 400 grams 14.10 oz. Condition: Excellent (there aren't any damages existing).
