Gorgeous pair of candlesticks / period of classizism. Made in Augsburg (circa 1800) Master: Johann Rudolf Haller (1757 - 1844) The silversmith received licence of manufacturing in year 1785. (Documentary Evidence: 'Verzeichniß der konzessionirten Herren Gold-und Silberarbeiter wie auch Uhrgehaeusmacher in der koen.bayerischen Kreisstadt Augsburg fuer das Jahr 1826' which means: List of licensed gold- and silversmiths as well as of watchmakers active in Bavarian Royal County Town Augsburg in year 1826) Haller died in year 1844 - aged 87 - shortly after he had received Golden Medal for his longtime merits / this silversmith was Captain of Royal Territorial Force, too. (Documentary Evidence: 'Verzeichniß aller in der koenigl. Bayerischen Kreis-Hauptstadt Augsburg evangelischen Theils im Kirchenjahre 1844 verstorbenen Personen' which means: List of all persons who passed away in Bavarian Royal County Town Augsburg in Christian year 1844) Specifications: Made of silver / finest manufacturing quality. This elegant candlesticks' appearance is style of Classizism: Their surfaces - especially the tapering stalks - are decorated with straight lines, running along from top piece to area below / each of the stalk is attached to round tiered base, being mounted to flat square plinth. Hallmarked: Branded by Augsburg well-kown silver sign: pine's cone with letter.
