Sterling Silver fiddle & thread pattern - large serving spoon, otherwise called a Gravy Spoon A full set of English hallmarks, applied by the London Assay Office:- Queen`s Head - Duty mark shows that duty has been paid to the Crown L - Date letter for London 1843 Leopard`s Head - London Assay Office mark Lion - Sterling silver guarantee WE - William Eaton, specialist cutlery maker. (he will have applied his own mark). A superb heavy duty spoon in the delightful, and much sought after fiddle & thread pattern. See the fiddle end of the spoon, and the double thread, all round the stem. A excellent set of hallmarks on the back of the spoon. A most interesting armorial - a rampant griffon, holding a banner, on which is a rampant lion. Superb unused condition - no faults You will see tiny marks where the spoon has been in contact, in a cutlery drawer, with other cutlery. The inside face of the spoon is virtually as original. Measure: length:- 305 millimetres / 12.01 inches. weight:- 166 grams / 5.34 ounces
