This exceptional Victorian item is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire; such combination flask and boxes are rare to the market. This flask has been tested for watertightness and is ready for use. To ensure the flask remains water tight, the cork should be moist and therefore fully expanded to provide an effective seal. There are two recommended methods to ensure the cork does not dry out and shrink: Method One: Keep fluid in the flask at all times, and keep the flask on its side to ensure the cork remains wet. Method Two: Fill the flask to the brim with fluid and close. Leave it like this overnight, or 24 hours if possible, before use. Condition This antique silver sandwich box and flask is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The flask has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck across the surface of the body, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the box are clear; the hallmarks to the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique Victorian silverware. Dimensions: height 15.6 cm / 6.1". width 8.4 cm / 3.3". depth 4.1 cm / 1.6".
