About

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage sterling silver Lincoln pattern flatware service for 12 persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection The pieces of this exceptional vintage George VI silver canteen of cutlery / flatware service for 12 persons have been crafted in the Lincoln pattern. The plain tapering handle of each piece is embellished with Art Deco style tiered decoration with a stepped-down top; this pattern was designed by Harrison Bros & Howson. The anterior surface of each handle bears the impressive contemporary bright cut engraved initial 'R'. This vintage Sheffield canteen of cutlery consists of 77 pieces: Basic service: 12 table forks 12 soup spoons 12 dessert forks 12 dessert spoons 12 teaspoons 6 coffee spoons Additional service: Pair of sauce ladles Four serving spoons Four salt spoons Mustard spoon The components of this service have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith and flatware maker George Howson of Harrison Brothers & Howson between 1946-1949; the pieces will have been crafted in less years but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters D, E and G. These impressive examples of vintage silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing.
