Vintage Regency Style Sterling Silver Candlesticks

About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage George VI English sterling silver candlesticks made in the Regency style, an addition to our ornamental silverware collection
These exceptional vintage George VI sterling silver candlesticks have a plain baluster form.
Each candlestick has a baluster shaped capital ornamented to the lower portion with impressive embossed fluted decoration.
The capitals retain the original detachable hallmarked push fit sconces, each embellished with an impressive applied gadroon decorated border accented with four shell motifs in the Regency style.
Each candlestick has an impressive knopped baluster shaped column ornamented with further fluted decoration to the lower portion.
The column of each surmounts a rectangular domed spreading base and plain collet style rim, which bears the full hallmarks in addition to 'Sterling Silver, Made in England'.
The base is embellished with further gadroon and shell ornamentation to the domed portion, reflecting the same design to that of the sconce.
These impressive vintage silver candlesticks have weighted bases, as to be expected and retain the original leatherette covering to the underside.
Condition
These vintage silver candlesticks are an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The embossed decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and the sleeve of each sconce are all very clear.
