William IV, sterling silver-mounted wood wine/champagne bottle coaster, Birmingham, England, year-hallmarked for 1836. Lovely scalloped design. Inside part of wooden base has a sterling silver disc with an armorial of a griffin etched into it. The disc also has a sterling silver hallmark. Measures over 6 1/4 inches diameter x 2 inches high. Dark areas in photos are reflections. In excellent antique condition.
