An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet; an addition to our wine and drinks related silverware collection. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bulbous-shaped form onto a swept pedestal and circular spreading foot. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is encompassed with a central band of chased and engraved scrolling foliate and floral decoration, incorporating swan and vase ornamentation, all on a matte background. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive cartouche displaying the contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting between two arms embowed a sun in splendour. The cylindrical upper rim is encompassed with further scrolling leaf decoration, flanked with an applied dart decorated border to the nadir and a moulded border to the rim. The cast silver waisted pedestal features a spiralling bead design, incorporating scrolling motifs to the upper portion, replicating the details of an architectural column. The circular spreading foot is embellished with impressive cast figural mask designs alternating with layered leaf motifs, all ornamented with further bead decoration. The swept rim of the slightly weighted base is further ornamented with a leaf decorated festoon. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion. This exceptional goblet, crafted by the renowned silversmith Frederick Elkington of Elkington & Co, is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gilt goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped pedestal and circular spreading foot, in the classic pineapple style. The body of this impressive antique silver goblet is composed of chased and embossed lozenge shaped convex panels, replicating the fruitlets/spikes of a pineapple, each ornamented with a quatrefoil-floral design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive quatrefoil shaped cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved monogram initials 'HM'. The upper rim is encompassed with an applied band of bead decoration. The waisted pedestal features a circular knop to the centre encircled with further floral motifs. The circular spreading foot is encompassed with a continuation of segmented lozenge panels, reflecting that of the body. This sterling silver goblet retains the original gilding; the gilding to the exterior of the goblet has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion. A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece tea service - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea set / service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug / creamer. Each piece has a plain rectangular form with incurved corners onto a shaped collet foot. The lower portion of the body of the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl is embellished with fine embossed fluted decoration. Each piece is further ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials ‘JGK’ to one side. The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover, which features further fluted decoration to the domed portion. The cover retains the original rectangular incurved cornered carved painted wood and sterling silver finial. The teapot is fitted with the original plain angular carved painted wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. Both the cream jug and the sugar bowl have sterling silver angular handles. The cream jug and sugar bowl retain their original gilt interiors. This antique tea set is contained within the original hinged oak box with a velvet lined interior and brass carrying handles.
