This gorgeous serving piece is finely decorated with opulent Art Nouveau style scroll and scallop borders, surrounding a large cartouche, on both sides. This grip can be used for pastry or even sandwiches. No monograms. The nicest asparagus grip are undeniably those made by the Maison Debain. While they produced grips in many different styles, it is those from the beginning of the 20th century, designed by artists like Maurice Giot, Valery Bizouard, Aldolphe Truffier and Francois Alphonse Piquemal, in the Art Nouveau style that are the best off all, and which proved to be greatest success. Registered on the 16th of may 1884, Alphonse Debain won Gold Medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 in Paris with this ingenious asparagus grip.
