George Fox Victorian English Sterling Silver Cruet Set

A fine, impressive and collectable antique Victorian English sterling silver cruet set modelled in the form of barrels, part of our silverware collection. The pieces of this impressive antique Victorian sterling silver cruet set have a barrel shaped form. This very fine, collectable antique cruet set in silver comprises of two powder pots, a mustard pot and the original hallmarked mustard spoon. Each piece is ornamented with bands of thread decoration. Both powder pots retain the original hallmarked push fit covers embellished with pierced decoration. The mustard pot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover. Each piece of this fine antique cruet set in silver retains the original gilded interior. The pieces of this impressive set are fitted to the original hallmarked trefoil cruet frame supported by three ball feet. The frame features twist design wire work holders fitted with an opposing scroll handle. Condition This antique cruet set is a very a good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each piece, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the covers are all very clear.     A fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea service/set; part of our Victorian silver teaware collection. This fine antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea set consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug / creamer. Each piece has an inverted pear shaped form on to a domed spreading foot. The upper portion of each piece is embellished with a broad band of bright cut engraved interlacing scroll and leaf decoration accented with stylised shell designs. The decoration to the body of each component incorporates two shaped, scroll decorated cartouches: one of which is vacant, the other displaying a bright cut engraved crest of a talbot*. The teapot is fitted with a hinged domed cover encircled with a band of bright cut engraved strapwork style decoration. The cover retains the original and impressive, hallmarked cast sterling silver stemmed floral finial. The fine teapot spout is ornamented with concave fluted decoration to the lower portion in addition to scrolling leaf designs extending up to the lip. The teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are all fitted with impressive C scroll handles ornamented with acanthus leaf decorated thumbpieces.
