This is a large pair of antique drinking cups. An Italian, bronze over marble decorative goblet in Grand Tour taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1850. Fine example of relief decor, from the days of the Grand Tour Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Quality bronze lightly time worn with medium to dark tones Morning Glory flowerheads adorn the body to striking effect Pair of serpentine handles sit beneath the wide, circular rim Standing upon a deep circular socle crafted from black marble Dressed to the base with a protective leather pad Substantial weight of 3.06kg and 2.93kg respectively This is a striking pair of antique drinking cups, with exceptional relief detail presenting Morning flowers. Popular in the Victorian period where they were associated with the feeling of meaning, whilst also being the birth flower for September. Delivered ready to display.
