About the Item

An exceptional set of three early George III Hanoverian pattern Tablespoons made in Dublin in 1769 by Joseph Cullen. The Spoons are of a large size and are modelled in the Hanoverian pattern. Each is engraved with a contemporary Crest and displays a drop on the back of the bowl. The Spoons are in excellent condition, are of a good gauge and each has a thick tip to the bowl. This set also has a good colour and displays crisp marks on each stem. Thomas Cullen was a fine maker of Flatware in Dublin at this date. Additional information: Length: 8.5 inches, 21.25 cm.

The teaspoons are of a most unusual design and are modeled in the Hanoverian style. The shaped stems display a raised bearded male mask surrounded by Rococo shell and scroll details.
