Two Amboss 1050 Snack Board Fork and Knife Sets, Austria, 1960s

About the Item

Up to two charming country house style snack sets from the 1960s, consisting of a cutting board and forks and knives. Designed and executed by Amboss Neuzeughammer Austria, who collaborated with a lot of Austrian designers and architects, like Carl Aubock. These sets are called „Speck Bsteck“ which means „Bacon flatware" in English. The boards are equipped with the award-winning flatware model no. 1050, which was the most exclusive and expensive cutlery by Amboss Neuzeug. The forks and knives are made of stainless steel and brass, the beautiful handles are made of rose wood. The cutlery can be placed into the board, and it is possible to hang them on the wall on a leather strap. The forks are marked. Both sets are in good condition with age-related signs of wear on the steel. Two sets are available, they were sold and priced per piece. measurements: board 9 1/2 x 6 in., knive 8 in., fork 7 in.
