Antique Edwardian Design Style Sterling Silver Teapot

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver teapot in the Design style; part of our diverse teaware collection. This exceptional and rare antique Edwardian sterling silver bachelor teapot has a compressed circular rounded form, in a highly desirable Christopher Dresser design. The body of this antique silver teapot is encircled with a plain girdle. This Edwardian teapot is fitted with an impressive domed hinged cover. The cover retains the original carved painted wood and sterling silver topped finial. This teapot retains the original turned painted wood handle, ornamented with sterling silver elongated cylindrical sockets, all in the Design style; the upper socket conjoins with the posterior portion of the cover, creating an unusual mechanism. This exceptional teapot is fitted with an impressive swan necked spout. Condition This exceptional Design style silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The interior of this bachelor teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear The part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of antique silver teaware.     An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian Dutch sterling silver bachelor teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver bachelor teapot has a circular cushion shaped form onto four feet. The surface of the teapot is embellished with chased, large interlacing leaf motifs on a textured background; the leaf designs eminate from a plain starburst motif to the underside. The decoration to the body incorporates four cartouches, each displaying a simplified Dutch style rural architectural scene. The upper portion of the body is ornamented with a band of chased ribbed decoration below the plain swept shoulders. This antique teapot is fitted with a hallmarked, domed hinged cover encircled with a scalloped border and surmounted with an impressive and original floral and foliate finial.
